Keri headshotKeri Cawthorne is a Registered Supervisor of Fitness throughout the BC Parks and Recreation Association.  She is a registered group fitness leader and pilates instructor and has contributed articles for Trail Runner, CMH Magazine, and Runner’s World.  Constantly updating her education, she is currently studying Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley.

She began her involvement in the fitness industry over 15 years ago.  After the birth of her daughter, she decided to leave the corporate world, and make fitness a full time job.  Since that time she has been designing and leading sell-out running programs for all levels, for runners across the lower mainland. Her popular “Pilates By the Lake” at Whonnock Lake Centre on Monday evenings continues to draw great numbers and participants from as far as North Vancouver. In 2007 Keri took over as BC Race Director for 5 Peaks Trail Adventures Ltd and supervises and co-ordinates all aspects of the BC Trail Running Series each drawing 500 racers plus spectators. Most recently, Keri was awarded an Ambassadorship from Lululemon Coquitlam Centre.

With a strong connection to the community, Keri volunteers at many local events, and spends countless hours spreading the fitness word. Keri attributes her success to loving what she does.  She believes that fitness should motivate not intimidate, and prides herself on making her classes reflect that.

About Iron Mountain Movement

Iron Mountain Movement was founded in 2004. Due to an overwhelming demand for Pilates and smaller group sessions, Keri converted her double car garage into a sophisticated Pilates studio. Located at the base of Iron Mountain, the studio backs on to trails, ponds, complete with plenty of wildlife.

Iron Mountain Movement provides high quality and trend-conscious group fitness programs that cater to active people of all fitness levels and ages. Providing outstanding customer service, education and safety to clients is of the utmost importance.

In addition to the Whonnock Studio, Iron Mountain Movement currently subcontracts fitness services to The District of Maple Ridge, providing pre-registered Pilates, Boot Camp and run/walk programs in the East Area; to Fitness Edge to providing group fitness classes at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre; and to 5 Peaks Trail Running Adventures.
